Paul Zimprich, DVM

Owner/Founder

Dr. Zimprich is originally from Cooperstown, North Dakota. He received his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Biotechnology at North Dakota State University. He then went to pursue his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University. Dr. Zimprich specialized in equine medicine while doing an internal medicine and surgical internship at Peterson and Smith Equine Hospital in Ocala, Florida. Following completion of his internship at Peterson and Smith, he took an associate position as an Equine Practitioner with Tranquility Large Animal Veterinary Service in Andover, New Jersey. After one year as associate, Dr. Zimprich purchased the equine fraction of Tranquility Large Animal Veterinary Service and renamed the division East Coast Equine Veterinary Service under his ownership.

In his spare time, Dr. Zimprich enjoys working on home improvements and skydiving.

Alex Ciuffitelli, VMD

Senior Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Alex Ciuffitelli is a Sussex County native and horsewoman who enjoys riding and eventing. She began her professional career as a Seasonal Technician with ECEVS in 2008 while she was earning her Bachelors Degree in Animal Science from Cook College, Rutgers University. In 2010, Dr. Alex made the decision to pursue her Veterinary Medicine Doctorate (VMD) at the University of Pennsylvania. While enrolled at U Penn., Dr. Alex continued to assist Dr. Paul and Dr. Jesslyn during her summer and semester breaks in order to gain invaluable field knowledge and experience. Upon graduation, Dr. Alex was welcomed back to the ECEVS team as an Associate Practitioner. Dr. Alex completed the Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians program in 2015 and is certified in Acupuncture.

In her spare time, Dr. Alex enjoys running, cooking, baking, horseback riding, and spending time with her husband.

Ashley Ezzo, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Ashley Ezzo is from central New Jersey and wanted to be an equine veterinarian for as long as she can remember. She completed her undergraduate education at The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!), where she was a member of the hunt seat equestrian team. She then received her DVM from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. After veterinary school, Dr. Ashley completed a year-long internship at Ocean State Equine Associates, then spent two years focusing on podiatry and lameness at a private practice in southern New Jersey. Her professional interests include care of geriatric horses, lameness, podiatry, and emergency medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Ashley enjoys riding her horse, Eve, or spending time doing outdoor activities with her family and dog, Brutus.

Jennifer Hollyer,
BVMS, MRCVS, DVM, MVM

Associate Veterinarian

Jennifer Hollyer, BVMS, MRCVS, DVM, MVM

Dr. Hollyer was born and raised in New Jersey, but moved to Ireland shortly after graduating from Barnard College, Columbia University, with a BA in Biology. In Ireland she worked at several racing yards as a work rider before attending Glasgow University’s School of Veterinary Medicine in Scotland. During her time at vet school, she completed an extra degree in Veterinary Pathology at the Royal Veterinary College in London, where she completed a project on atypical myopathy (pasture associated myopathy) at the Irish Equine Center. She worked on two other projects, one on equine grass sickness and one on Encephalozoon cuniculi associated encephalitis in a horse.

She graduated vet school in 2013 and spent eleven years working at various practices in Scotland starting with mixedpractice and moving onto equine only work. Dr. Hollyer undertook a residency program in clinical pathology as well as obtaining a Masters in Veterinary Medicine, which focused on liver disease in the horse. She has spent the past 7 years as an equine practitioner, which she has thoroughly enjoyed.

In her spare time, Dr. Hollyer can be found playing with her two children, riding her two horses, walking her four sprocker spaniels and participating in most outdoor pursuits.
